UFI Awards: RX Global wins sustainable development, IEG is the best digital innovator
RX Global has won the 2025 UFI Sustainable Development Award while Italian Exhibition Group received the 2025 UFI Digital Innovation Award, UFI, The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, announced.
RX Global won the sustainable development award for its inclusion initiative under the "Best Inclusion Initiative" category.
"We are honored and thrilled to receive the 2025 UFI Sustainable Development Award for Best Inclusion Initiative," said Ray Rhodes, Head of Inclusion & Diversity at RX Global.
Stephanie Mathas, Chair of UFI Sustainable Development Working Group, said RX Global's approach stood out for its global impact and the organization's "Guide to Inclusive Events."
Finalists included Exhibition Place Toronto, Fiera Milano & Fiera Milano Brasil, and ICC Sydney.
Italian Exhibition Group won the digital innovation award for its "All-in-one ecosystem" entry.
"Winning the UFI Digital Innovation Award is a significant recognition of Italian Exhibition Group's commitment to serving our communities," said Corrado Peraboni, CEO of Italian Exhibition Group.
Stephan Forseilles, Chair of the UFI Digital Innovation Working Group, called the submission "transformative," noting it represents a complete rethink of their ecosystem.
ReedPop (RX Global) and Royal Jaarbeurs were named finalists for the digital innovation award.
Award winners will present their projects at the 92nd UFI Global Congress, scheduled for Nov. 19-22, 2025, in Hong Kong SAR.
Hamburg Messe und Congress posts record €140.2 million turnover in 2024
Hamburg Messe und Congress reported turnover of €140.2m in fiscal year 2024, surpassing its previous record from 2016 by 25.5% and posting its first net profit since 2008.
The trade fair operator recorded a net profit of €20.9m, according to CEOs Uwe Fischer and Heiko M. Stutzinger. The turnaround stems from relief from €22m in annual leasing costs for exhibition halls, replaced by rental fees of approximately €7m.
The company generated €87.8m from its own events and hosted more than 760,000 visitors across seven company-managed events and 40 guest events. The CCH Congress Center recorded 142,000 participants across 76 events.
For 2025, Hamburg Messe und Congress projects revenue of €88.1m and a loss of €19.2m. The combined 2024-2025 cycle is expected to show the first positive biennial result.

Informa posts 9.3% revenue growth in Jan-May 2025
Informa PLC reported underlying revenue growth of 9.3% for the five months ended May 31, the international events and academic publishing company said Tuesday.

Stephen Carter, group chief executive, said the company's live B2B event brands and academic market services continue to drive growth.
